I feel that the most rewarding thing for me as a teacher is simply knowing that I have influenced a life. I can teach kids things that they need to know for academic survival in years to come. I want to excite children about learning. One challenging thing for me will be being watched all the time. I don't want someone to be constantly breathing down my neck.
I think that the most rewarding thing for me will be the effect that I have on some child's life. I want them to leave my classroom and remember me throughout their life as someone who had an impact on them. The hardest thing for me will probably be dealing with students that don't want to learn, or students with disabilities. It will be difficult for me to properly provide to all of their needs.
I think that the most rewarding thing for me as a teacher would be the academic freedom. Having the freedom to teach the way I want, the best way for me and my students, would lead to intrinsic rewards. Teaching is intellectually rewarding, and teaching the way I want will make it even more rewarding. A major challenge I will face as a teacher is the limited funds. I know that my mom, a first grade teacher, spends a lot of money out of her own pocket for her classroom. The little things like construction paper, scissors, and crayons add up, but there are a lot of other expenses like name tags, stickers, books, and decorations for the classroom. It is too bad that there is not the funding for teachers to have money to buy whatever they want for their classrooms.
I think the most rewarding part of being a teacher will be the intrisic rewards. The feeling that maybe you are the one person in a child's life that makes them excited to learn and excited to come to school. I remember a few of my teachers that I idolized and that made them feel amazing! I think some of the biggest challenges will be dealing with parents and guardians. All children are raised in different households with different beliefs and morals. It will be tough to communicate successfully with 20+ people who all think differently about education. I also think that at the beginning, it will be tough to get a routine going that works. But that is also a perk, because i feel like once a routine is formed, the fun stuff about teaching and being around kids begins!
The most rewarding things for me as a teacher would be to be able to watch a child grow and learn. The most difficult thing for me would be trying to teach a student that just doesn't want to learn. another thing that would be difficult for me would be trying to make a different lesson plan for each day.
I think that the most rewarding aspect of teaching for me will be acting as a role model for the kids in my class. Also, encouraging the unmotivated kids to be optimistic about school and education will be rewarding, yet challenging at the same time. The most challenging part for me will probably be dealing with angry parents when a child is having difficulty in school.
The most rewarding thing for me will be knowing that I have impacted a child's life. Just knowing that I have made a difference in someone's life is a big enough reward for me. The most challenging thing for me will be trying to relate to all the students cultures. I do not know a lot of information about different cultures, so I have a feeling that will be challenging.
The most rewarding thing for me will be seeing my students at the beginning of the year wide-eyed and eager to learn and then looking at them at the end of the year and seeing how much they have learned and grown socially. To see that change will be a reward in itself. I remember my first grade teacher and how much fun we had learning in her class and how much of a positive influence she had on me. That's how I want my students to remember me. The biggest challenge for me will be parents. I think I will feel like I am under a microscope.
I think that the biggest reward for me is knowing that I changed the life of a child and maybe influenced them a little to become a future teacher. Another reward for me as a teacher would be being able to be a confidant for children that can not talk to there parents/guardians, because I feel that it is importnat for child to get things out in the open and not hold them inside.
I think that a big challange is going to be handling multiple events at the same time, but I am sure that as I teach more and more I will learn to better handle this challange. I also get nervous when authoru=ity figures are always watching me, it makes me think that I have done some thing wrong.
After reading chapter one, I feel that the most rewarding thing for me will be the knowledge that I influenced a child's life. I will be able to provide them with knowledge for their futures to come. I believe that the most challenging part is having someone watch you. Its hard for me to consentrate under pressure.
The most rewarding part of being a teacher would be the intrinsic rewards. To be more specific, being able to see my students grow and flourish before my eyes would be most rewarding. Children at this young age show such a great enthusiasm about every accomplishment they make. I would love to be a contributor to increasing this level of excitement they experience. The biggest challenge as a young, new teacher would be knowing how to handle parents/guardians who are not willing to or do not know how to show support for their child. Not having parental/guardian support would be extremely frustrating. I know that I need to learn how to try to reach out to parents/guardians who fit this description. Learning about common home lives in today's society is of equal importance as learning about the developmental stages of young children. In time, I will be able to address uncooperative parents in a proactive manner.
Well I can certainly say that the most challenging thing for me, as a teacher, is going to be being overcompassionate about children. I know that it is my job to influence children's lives and I want to get to know a lot about them, including their families. But as Tara pointed out in class, some people are too proud to ask for help. It is going to be really hard for me to see a child get made fun of because of his/her clothes or something superficial like that and know that sometimes, I can't fix everything. The most reward thing for me is going to be seeing a student really start to understand something. Seeing that lightbulb click on now, just when I am tutoring, is so rewarding.
I believe that one of the greatest rewards for me will not only be that I have changed a student's outlook on learning, but that I effect their family as well. I hope as a teacher that my job will influence families as a whole.
It troubles me that parents are not as active in their child's education as they could be. I will always keep in mind that there are exceptions to every rule, parents who have to work 3 jobs to maintain, etc... but I think as a whole teachers see the same parents volunteer their time repeatedly. I want to get parents active and to be supportive of their child's education. I want the parents to read to their child or be read to by their child. There has to be a way to make learning more family oriented. I want my parents to not only sign off on their child's homework, but to know what they are studying in class every week or at least most of them.
As a teacher I know this will also be one of my biggest challenges. I hope that in time I can be the teacher that not only the student's remember years later, but that their parents remember as well. Under no circumstances do I feel that if I "build it they will come" ("Field of Dreams" - Kevin Costner), but I sure hope they will at least visit!
Unrealistic? Absolutely! None the less it is a goal of mine!
I feel that the most awarding thing for me being a teacher will be watching the "light bulb" turn on for a child that may have been struggling. When a child has been working really hard to understand a concept and they finally understand, they will be so proud of themselves and I will be so proud of them for getting it and me for teaching them.
One big challenge for me will be parents that do not care whether their children succeed or not. I feel that parent support is really important in a child’s life. I know I would not have done as well in school if I would not have had my mom's help and encouragement. It will be very difficult for me to watch a child who could be great if he/she just had some outside help but his/her parents refuse to give it to him/her.
I believe that the most rewarding thing for me being a teacher is being able to have an impact on a student's life. If I can teach them something they truly understand and will remember throughout their life, it will be extremely satisfying.
One challenging thing for me being a teacher may be trying to get my students to be motivated to learn. If they don't want to be in the classroom and they don't care about the lesson, it will be extremely hard and hurtful.
There are many things rewarding about being a teacher but what really sticks out to me is just being in a child's presence. I love kids. I've worked jobs where I've dealt with kids and it always makes me happy to see them because they are always happy and if they're not, it's very easy to cheer them up.
The thing is there are always the kids that do everything in their power to undermine you. It's always a challenge dealing with them but as I've learned, there are ways to deal with them.
I feel that the best thing that I will be rewarded with is that, I am an influence in a childs life. Hopefully a strong enough influence that they remeber what I have taught them and exactly how I have affected their life. I can teach students the things that they need to know to be able to get wonderful educations and be able to survive.
I hope to be the kind of teacher that is great with children that have special learning or behavioral conditions. I have been involved in the lives of many children with ADD/ADHD and I know that I can use those experiences to reach those students with those conditions.
The most challenging thing for me would be to have a student fail. The feeling of knowing that a student failed is hard. It will make you wonder was there something more that I could have done?
I think the most rewarding thing for me will be the impact on children I will have. I wan the children to remember me as someone who cared and helped prepare them for there future. The most dificult thing for me will be balancing work and coaching since I would like to be a coach as well. I am sure I will learn many ways to help myself manage my time through out my career.
I think the most rewarding thing to me would be to see the faces of my students light up when i teach them something new. I loved the feeling when i finally got something that was new and exciting. I cant wait to give that feeling to my students and get them excited to learn something new!!
I think what one of the most rewarding experiences as a teacher is spending all day, every day with a bunch of children (not that it wouldn’t be a little frustrating at times). I think that it keeps you young and the enthusiasm and innocence that they bring into the classroom with them is always interesting and refreshing.
Honestly, the thing that is most intimidating to me is classroom management. I have a discipline method that works with my students, but they are only four years old…in elementary school, some of the students are bigger than me! The only thing that will calm my worries is just getting out there and being in an elementary classroom.
For me the most rewarding part will be the reactions from my students. While i was in my placement for 205 i would go and teach a lesson, and the children would seem so grateful. They were smiling and paying such good attention, because i always tried to make math fun and understandable for them. Im not the teacher to just sit and lecture so we kind of spiced it up to where we weren't breaking the complete way my teacher did things. We got the entire class involved and awake. At the end of the course the kids also made me a booklet they made of notes they wrote in cursive about the things i did that they think will make me a great teacher. I miss my class!
i feel like helping kids become productive and educated are the biggest rewards i would and any teacher could recieve. i feel like making learning fun will help stimulate the kids to learn, also being young still helps the kids learn easier and they would respect you more and want to learn more. i think the most challenging thing for me would be being stucqk wit kids unwilling to learn or to be unprepared to take on the challenge of working with 30 kids that are pulling me 30 differnt ways
I think the most rewading part will be knowig that I have helped make a difference in someones life. When I was a cadet teacher, i had to help students who didnt understand their multiplication problems. After working with them for a few days, they understood it and were excited to tell me that they passed their multiplication facts test earlier that day. I think I was more excited than they were because I knew that I helped them and seeing their excitement just gave me the confidence to keep going.
I think the most rewarding thing is influencing the lives of children and opening their eyes to new things that they will learn. Hopefully I impact them enough that they will remember me throughout their life. The most challenging will be maybe working with children who have learning disabilities and working with children who just do not want to learn. I think another challenge is also learnign how to manage a large classroom because classroom managment is a MUST! I guess I will just learn as I go, and learn from experiance.
For me the most rewarding part of being a teaching would have to be making a positive impact in my students lives. I know how i look up to and appreciated the teachers who have positively effected my life and it would be extremely rewarding knowing someone felt the same way about me. The most challenging thing for me will be dealing with all the different types of students and different cultures. Every student is different so i feel it will be challenging to make my classroom fun and entertaining while at the same time allowing my students to learn and progress throughout the class.
I think the most rewarding thing for myself would have to be that you're effecting a childs life. You're shaping children one step at a timem, and they will always remember you. I think the most challenging thing for me will have to be having patience. I've had a problem with patience before, but I think the children will teach me to have patience.
I think the most rewarding part of teaching will be an even mix of intrinsic and extrinsic rewards. I would want to play a huge part in the childrens' lives. I think just knowing that the kids appreciate you is awesome. That would really make me proud to be a teacher. Also, I think some of the other rewards of being a teacher would be the job security and the summer vacations. I think one of the major challenges in teaching would be working with the parents or guardians. Sometimes, the parents do not want to cooperate with you at all and that makes your job so much harder. Another challenge would be having to constantly make decisions. kids look up to you everyday knowing that you'll do what's right and they trust that you will.
The most rewarding thing in being a classroom teacher to me are the intrinsic rewards such as the feeling when your children grow up and come back to you telling you how much you taught them. The most challenging thing for me as a future teacher would be the time management. When I am going on and on about something I love I could spend a whole day on it, but the stuff I do not care for I would do really fast and just try to get it over with. This is something I want to work on and teach my students not to do. I want to find ways of making the boring stuff fun to learn
